ChristianaCare's Outpatient Behavioral Health practice in Glen Mills, PA is seeking a professional, compassionate, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills.
About the Role
The Outpatient Adult Psychiatry practice is a highly respected, multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing comprehensive, confidential mental and emotional health care. Our clinicians including psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, mental-health counselors, and board-certified psychiatrists deliver tailored evaluation and treatment services supported by the full resources of ChristianaCare. We care for patients experiencing a wide range of behavioral-health needs, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, relationship and family challenges, life transitions, grief and loss, and other emotional or mental-health concerns. Our integrated model ensures patients receive convenient, coordinated support from a team committed to high-quality, compassionate care.
Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant I, you support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care, performing essential clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality care. Flexibility to travel to other locations if needed is strongly preferred.
Work Schedule
- Monday through Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
- No weekends or holidays

Duties / Responsibilities
- The Medical Assistant I greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment.
- They manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.
Position Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED required.
- A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Hourly Pay Range
$19.10 - $27.69
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
