Medical Copywriter

Medical Copywriter – London (21GRAMS, part of Real Chemistry)

About the Role

Our mission is rooted in listening, deeper thinking, and pushing boundaries – making healthcare brands more compelling than any sneaker brand. To do this, we need someone who:

  • Uses science and creativity to shape compelling narratives for HCPs and patients
  • Places the client’s needs at the centre of strategy and execution

What You’ll Do

  • Write high-impact medical copy—clear, concise, and commercially oriented—tailored for HCPs, clinicians, and patients, while strictly adhering to ABPI code of conduct and internal QC standards.
  • Collaborate across teams: Partner closely with Strategy, Creative, and Account teams to refine briefs and develop innovativeف
  • Deep-dive into science and strategy: Leverage credible scientific resources, competitive insights, and therapy area expertise to drive project direction.
  • Lead new business opportunities: Contribute to pitches, proposals, and brainstorming sessions, demonstrating strong therapy area knowledge and industry understanding.
  • Own projects end-to-end: Ensure deadlines are met, anticipate challenges, and proactively solve roadblocks.
  • Engage confidently with clients: Respond quickly to requests, clarify briefs, and shape proposals to align with client objections and goals.
  • Gateway executor: Deliver flawless editorial content while managing project timelines, budgets, and approvals.
  • Industry agility: Stay ahead of pharma/medcom industry trends, adsorbing innovations to creatively refine healthcare storytelling.
  • Champion compliance: Uphold high standards of writing accuracy, ethical language use, and consistent cross-team alignment.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Postgraduate/PhD/MD in a science discipline (ideally PhD, PharmD, or scientific advanced degree).
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in medical writing or copywriting, with preference for:
    • Agency experience (medical communications, healthcare marketing).
  • Rapid therapeutic area upskilling demonstrated through active fluency in latest clinical insights.

Specialized Skills

  • Ethical writing proficiency:
    • Unwavering grasp of ABPI guidelines, unverified claim risks, and comparative language usage.
  • New business acumen:
    • Familiarity with pitch terms, RFP processes, and commercial storytelling.
