Medical Device Services Support Manager

# Medical Device Service Support Manager (Band 5) – Northern Care Alliance NHS FT

We are seeking a passionate Medical Device Service Support Manager (Band 5) to lead our expanding Medical Equipment Library Service, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant provision of medical devices across acute and community settings. if you thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment where leadership directly impacts patient care, we’d love to hear from you.


### About the Role

This pivotal Band 5 position will oversee operational leadership for a growing Medical Equipment Library Service, initially supporting three acute sites and their associated community services, with further expansion to Salford in 2026. Your role is critical in ensuring:

  • Safe, effective, and timely access to medical devices for clinical teams
  • Support for patient flow, reduction of delays, and compliance with:
    • CQC Regulations 12 & 15
    • MHRA’s Managing Medical Devices guidance
  • High-quality, patient-centred care outcomes through robust device management

You will line-manage a Band 4 and a team of Band 3 Equipment Librarians, fostering excellence in service delivery, quality checks, and operational standards.

  • Day-to-day leadership & supervision of the Medical Equipment Library Team
  • Ensuring safe checking, decontamination, and issuance of medical devices
  • Monitoring & improving KPIs, including:
    • Operational capacity
    • Device turnaround efficiency
  • Supporting staff development, including wellbeing strategies and succession planning
  • Maintaining regulatory compliance with national and local medical device standards
  • Contributing to service expansion and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Engaging closely with:
    • NCA Medical Device Governance & Library Coordinator
    • Wider Medical Device Service teams
