Make a Difference Through Nutrition
Are you a qualified Nutritionist with a passion for supporting children and young people? Do you have the knowledge and enthusiasm to help schools provide safe, nutritious meals for pupils with medical dietary requirements?
We're looking for a Medical Diet Nutritionist to join our team, supporting over 120 primary and secondary schools across the South of England. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll work closely with schools, parents, catering teams and operational colleagues to ensure every child receives safe, compliant and nutritious meals.
You'll combine home working with regular visits to schools, giving you the opportunity to build strong relationships while making a real difference to pupils' health and wellbeing.
What You'll Be Doing
As our Medical Diet Nutritionist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring safe medical diet provision across our education contracts by:
- Writing and reviewing allergen-free and medical diet menus for a range of allergies, intolerances and medical conditions.
- Advising parents, schools and catering teams on medical diet requests and processes.
- Auditing school sites to ensure best practice in allergen management and food safety.
- Delivering engaging training sessions for catering teams on medical diets and allergen awareness.
- Producing and maintaining accurate allergen reports to ensure compliance with Food Information Regulations (FIR).
- Managing menus and medical diet information using systems such as Cypad and Bluerunner.
- Investigating incidents in partnership with Health & Safety teams where required.
- Maintaining confidential medical diet records accurately and securely.
- Producing nutrient analysis for pupils with specialist dietary requirements.
- Delivering educational workshops and wellbeing sessions for pupils and students.
- Building strong relationships with clients, schools and parents to provide an outstanding support service.
- Managing medical diet requests efficiently and within agreed timescales.
- Monitoring supplier and ingredient changes and assessing any impact on medical diets.
- Supporting wider nutrition and business projects as required.
- Travelling regularly to schools across your region.

About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about nutrition, highly organised and enjoys building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
You'll Have
- A recognised BSc in Nutrition or equivalent accredited qualification.
- Excellent knowledge of food allergies, intolerances, School Food Standards and Food Information Regulations.
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Confidence delivering presentations and training to large audiences.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A positive, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- A passion for improving children's health and wellbeing.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly, with occasional overnight stays.
Desirable
- Experience managing medical diets and food allergies.
- Experience within education, contract catering or foodservice.
- Experience using nutritional analysis software such as Saffron (or similar).
- Experience delivering educational workshops to children and young people.
