Medical Field Service Engineer (Pathology Laboratory Diagnostics)

Overall Earnings: Circa £50,000

  • Basic Salary: £40,000 to £44,000
  • Bonus: 10%

About the Role

This market leader seeks to recruit a technically motivated and customer-focused Medical Field Service Engineer, responsible for:

  • The service, installation, breakdown, repair, and calibration of a wide range of sophisticated medical laboratory diagnostics systems, utilized within pathology departments, NHS laboratories, and clinical chemistry environments
  • Supporting clinical chemistry and blood diagnostics products located at customer sites

Responsibilities

Provide technical support, installation, maintenance, breakdown, repair, and calibration of:

  • Laboratory diagnostics systems
  • Pathology devices in various healthcare settings

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate:

  • A competent background in customer-facing field service engineering obtained in a high-value capital equipment environment.
  • Experience in field service engineering from a broad range of sectors, including:
    • Laboratory device engineering
    • Medical device engineering
    • Pharmaceutical device engineering
      • Former ex-forces engineers (especially those with medical, dental, weapons systems, and radar expertise)
    • Electronics/electro-mechanical engineering
  • Products may include autoimmune diagnostics, immunology, biochemistry, haematology, histology, microbiology, and immunodiagnostics systems

Ensuring you have:

  • A qualification in engineering, electronics, or a science-based subject to a minimum of ONC level, City & Guilds, or NVQ level.
  • Willingness to undergo full and comprehensive product training (open to applicants from diverse backgrounds).
