Medical Field Service Engineer, Pathology Laboratory Diagnostics

Compensation Package (Circa £50,000)

  • Basic Salary: Up to £45,000
  • Bonus: 10%
  • Benefits:
    • Company car or car allowance

The Role Overview

A leading market player requires a technically driven and customer-focused Medical Field Service Engineer to deliver:

  • Service, installation, breakdown, repair, and calibration of sophisticated medical laboratory diagnostics systems
    • Applied in pathology departments, NHS laboratories, and clinical chemistry environments
  • Support for clinical chemistry and blood diagnostics products at customer sites

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance, repair, and optimisation of laboratory diagnostics equipment
  • Troubleshooting complex medical systems in healthcare and clinical settings
  • Installation and training on product use for end-users
  • Collaboration with NHS and pathology teams to ensure operational reliability

Experience & Qualifications Required

  • Proven background as a Field Service Engineer within high-value capital equipment environments
    • Experience in laboratory devices, medical devices, pharmaceutical devices, or military applications (e.g., medical/dental services, radar systems, electro-mechanical sectors) is advantageous
  • Engineers with diagnostics expertise encouraged, including:
    • Autoimmune diagnostics
    • Immunology
    • Biochemistry
    • Haematology
    • Histology
    • Microbiology
    • Immunodiagnostics systems
  • Minimum qualification:
    • ONC (Ordinary National Certificate) or equivalent
    • City & Guilds certification
    • NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) in engineering, electronics, or science-based disciplines
