Job Overview
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and well-motivated individual with a good scientific background to complement and assist in leading our existing MLA team at Wexham Park Hospital.
Essential qualities expected:
- Efficiency

- Good communication skills

- Good keyboard skills (desirable)
In addition, you should be a reliable individual who is able to demonstrate good practical skills and work as part of a team.
You must be keen to embrace new ways of working and develop your knowledge and skills and able to participate in the shift system.

Main duties of the job
- Participate in the provision of a comprehensive range of scientific and diagnostic services across various scientific disciplines.
- Conducting laboratory tests, analysing results, and ensuring accurate diagnostic information is provided to support patient care.
- Use automated laboratory equipment and manual techniques, ensuring all procedures are carried out with the utmost precision and under appropriate supervision.
- Communicate with a variety of healthcare professionals, including hospital clinicians, general practitioners, and other specialists, to discuss test results, clarify diagnostic information, and collaborate on patient care plans.
- Engage with commercial suppliers to coordinate the procurement of laboratory materials and ensure that the necessary resources are available to maintain efficient service delivery.
- Adhere to NHS policies, quality control protocols, and regulatory guidelines to ensure safety, accuracy, and compliance in all aspects of your work.

- Good basic education to include GCSE O Levels / A Levels or NVQ Level 3 or IBMS Certificate of Achievement (Part 1)
Desirable criteria
- Basic educational qualification in mathematics
Experience

- Demonstrable ability to plan and prioritise
- Able to understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in a relevant routine medical laboratory
