Medical Physicist | Radiotherapy Device Manufacturer | West Sussex
Location: On-site/Hybrid
Salary: Up to £65,000 + Benefits (permanent role, but fixed-term contract also considered)
The Role in 20 Seconds
You're a Medical Physicist who's spent real time around Linear Accelerators — not just clinically, but in the compliance and commissioning weeds. You know TG-51 or TRS-398 dosimetry protocols cold, you're comfortable being the Subject Matter Expert engineers turn to when a design decision has a physics consequence, and you can write a technical file that stands up to FDA and CE Mark scrutiny.
This role sits at the heart of the company's next major product milestone. Expect to be hands-on with compliance testing from day one.
What You'll Be Doing
- Experimental design to evaluate physical and clinical performance of the delivery system
- Performing precision measurements and analysis to demonstrate compliance with international standards (e.g. IEC 60601-2-1)
- Acting as the bridge between physics and engineering on design decisions
- Executing V&V testing focused on dosimetric performance and beam characteristics
- Generating physics reports and technical files for regulatory submissions (FDA, CE Mark)
- Serving as SME for Linac installation, commissioning and long-term maintenance protocols

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

A Note on Fit
This is genuinely hands-on, not a research or purely clinical role, you'll be in the lab doing the compliance testing, not just signing it off. It's a growing company, you won't just be a number - the work is hard, but the visibility is high, and the opportunity for growth is truly there.
Above all, personality is the key. This is an energetic, exciting company, that is really going somewhere. The culture is amazing, and the team is warm and welcoming. If you're lacking some of the above prerequisites, but you think you have what it takes to thrive in a company on a growth spurt, then reach out. Attitude and willingness to succeed far outweigh experience in this company!
