Medical Receptionist – Part-Time (Evening & Saturday Coverage)
📌 Company Description
The Sporting Joint is a multidisciplinary practice offering professional, proactive services including:
- Physiotherapy
- Sports therapy
- Sports massage
- Podiatry
- Reflexology
- Thai massage
The team provides thorough assessment and treatment for patients with injuries from diverse causes, including:
- Hands-on care (manipulation, soft-tissue treatment, mobilisation, and stretching)
- Individualised rehabilitation plans to support a safe, efficient return to sport or daily activities
💼 Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site Medical Receptionist position based in Derby.
☑️ Key Responsibilities
The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for:
- Greeting patients and maintaining a welcoming, professional front-of-house environment
- Managing check-in/check-out processes
- Daily administrative tasks:
- Answering phone calls and responding to inquiries
- Scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling appointments
- Updating patient records accurately
- Administrative support:
- Coordinating with clinical staff
- Organising patient files
- Processing payments
- Ensuring smooth patient flow throughout the day
- Maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and higher customer service standards

📚 Qualifications & Requirements
Candidates must possess:
- Strong appointment scheduling skills and experience in a healthcare or clinical office environment
- Polished phone etiquette and core receptionist duties
- Medical terminology knowledge for clear communication and record-keeping
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to:
- Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues
- Work in a customer-facing role with professionalism
- Organisational abilities and attention to detail
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., practice management or booking systems)
- Reliability, self-motivation, and the ability to:
- Work independently
- Collaborate in a busy clinical environment

Preferred (but not mandatory):
- Previous experience in healthcare or sports therapy settings
- Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection standards (e.g., GDPR)
⏰ Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 4:00–8:00 PM
- Saturday coverage: Two Saturdays per month (9:00 AM–1:00 PM)
🚬 Eligibility
- Minimum age: 16+ years
