Medical Records Officer
Overview
Location: Circle Reading Hospital
Hours/Vacancy Type: 37.5 Hours per week (Permanent)
Salary: £24,947.00 per year
Circle Reading Hospital is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals and clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.
We’re looking for a Medical Records Officer to join the team in the Medical Records department at Circle Reading Hospital.
This is a full-time, permanent role requiring a flexible shift pattern.
Duties
The Medical Records Officer will:
- Prepare patient records for upcoming:
- Clinic visits
- Admissions
- Investigations
- Surgical procedures
- Ensure all required documentation (e.g., consent forms, test results, referral letters) is:
- Accurately filed
- Efficiently located and retrieved when requested
- Handle patient information with the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion
- Provide support to:
- Clinicians
- Administrative teams through timely access to complete and accurate records
- Use electronic systems (e.g., hospital PAS, EMR or EPR platforms) to:
- Log, update, and search patient data accurately
- Locate and retrieve patient notes for clinical, admin or legal teams

Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Previous administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare or records-focused role
- A strong understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, and information governance
- Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to:
- Manage time and priorities effectively
- Work comfortably with IT systems and databases
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and respectful manner
- Comfort with working across a flexible shift pattern
