About the Role: Medical Science Liaison (Germany)
Role Overview
The Medical Science Liaison is responsible for:
- Supporting the safe and effective use of Company therapies through complex medical/scientific communication to healthcare professionals (HCPs).
- Translating field medical intelligence/insights to internal stakeholders.
- Conducting internal and external training on Company therapies.
- Reporting to the Europe MSL Director, autonomously managing a Germany-focused territory while collaborating to achieve key medical objectives.
Primary Location: Field-based position covering the southern region of Germany, ideally with proximity to a major international city (e.g., Munich, Stuttgart).
Key Responsibilities
Therapy Training
- Develop and deliver training programs to guide the safe and effective use of Company therapies.
- Proactively engage HCPs in on-label product and procedural training.
- Act as a subject matter expert to educate medical education and internal teams.
- Provide disease-state/treatment support to:
- Commercial teams (product/clinical/scientific alignment).
- R&D departments (strategic advisory).
- Offer refresher training to users facing suboptimal outcomes.

Medical Support & KOL Engagement
- Build and sustain peer-to-peer relationships with:
- External contracted experts (EEs).
- Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) for two-way scientific/educational exchanges.
- Identify and address medical/scientific barriers influencing patient outcomes.
- Stay updated on:
- Oncology/Hematology research trends (preference).
- Practice pattern shifts and emerging therapies.
- Communicate non-biased clinical evidence (e.g., linking evidence gaps where needed).
- Execute medical plans by:
- Translating new-product/indication clinical data to HCPs.
- Crafting territory-specific KOL engagement strategies.
- Support KOL congress presentations with accurate science and timelly follow-up.
- Investigate field intelligence for:
- Safety/efficacy impacts.
- R&D guidance.
- Competitive insights.
Strategic Insights & Reporting
- Transform field insights into actionable intelligence for internal stakeholders.
- Articulate clinical value and knowledge gaps to inform decision-making.
- Attend/congress sessions, then summarize insights clearly for leadership.
Medical Plan & Stakeholder Coordination
- Define and execute country-compliant Medical Plans.
- Engage with medical societies and address queries on assigned products.
- Plan advisory boards/scientific education with relevant KOLs.
- Submit agreed KPI/tracking reports showing alignment with regional plans.
Commercial & Market Access Support
- Assist hospitals/formularies and reimbursement panels with product launches via structured presentations.
Research & Clinical Trial Support
- Partner with Clinical Development for:
- Site identification/initiation (medical/scientific feasibility).
- Protocol education and liason with investigators.
- Identify patient recruitment challenges (quality/data issues).
- Recommend high-performing research sites.
- Advise investigators to maximize recruitment/quality data.
- Strengthen collaboration with investigator-initiated studies (IIS):
- Champion novel ideas aligned with Company strategies.
- Champion innovative research that improves patient care.
- Provide quarterly updates, highlighting key milestones.

Requirements
Technical Skills
- Professional title(s): Preferably a published peer-reviewed researcher or clinical practice expert in a specialty medicine field, with hands-on potential.
- Scientific analytical skills: Ability to interpret trends from clinical research data.
- Multilingual: Fluent German and English (written and spoken).
Soft Skills
- Interpersonal: Exceptional consultant presence and consulting skills.
- Presentational: Charismatic presenter capable of commanding a room or large platform at medical events.
- Learning mindset: Enthusiastic self-directed learner who continuously develops scientific expertise in service to patients.
- Pedagogy: Strong trainer who quickly simplifies research, translates complex concepts into practical takeaways.
- Time management: Excellent for juggling multi-prioritized duties across diverse regions.

Education & Work Experience
- Degree: A dedicated, Master’s finishing, or above in Life Sciences (Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing).
- Industry experience: Minimum five years in pharma/life sciences, preferably as a Medical Science Liaison.
- German medical ecosystems: Deep knowledge of German hospital structures, payer systems, scientific societies, with a preference for Hematology/Oncology expertise.
