Medical Science Liaison

Job Title: Medical Science Liaison

Location: National Remit (UK & Ireland) Working Pattern: Field-Based Role


About This Job

As a Medical Science Liaison within our Medical Affairs team, you’ll serve as a scientific partner across the UK & Ireland, bridging the gap between clinical research and clinical practice. Your role will focus on advancing scientific knowledge, enhancing collaboration with healthcare professionals (HCPs), and driving improvements in patient outcomes for individuals with immune challenges, rare diseases, cancers, and neurological conditions.

You’ll be part of In Specialty Care, where breakthrough treatments aim to address some of the highest unmet medical needs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop & maintain trusted relationships with:

    • Healthcare professionals (HCPs)
    • Academic researchers
    • Clinical experts
    • Build and foster credibility as a knowledgeable scientific partner
  • Provide evidence-based scientific information, including:

    • Presenting data at medical meetings
    • Supporting educational events
    • Contributing to advisory boards
  • Identify and support clinical research opportunities, including:

    • Investigator-led studies
    • Guiding scientific strategy throughout the process
  • Gather field insights to:

    • Shape medical strategy
    • Improve scientific communications

About You

Key Qualifications & Skills

  • Background in:

    • Clinical research
    • Medical science
    • Related healthcare field Must demonstrate understanding of proof generation and clinical evidence translation.
  • Proven ability to:

    • Grasps and communicates clinical research methodology
    • Explains complex scientific concepts clearly to diverse audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills:

    • Bedside manner for engaging relationships
    • Active listening & trust-building
    • Enjoyable interactions with HCPs and clinical experts
  • Cross-functional mindset:

    • Flourishes in coordinated environments
    • Thrives across multiple functions (e.g., Medical Affairs, Commercial, Regulatory)

Education & Experience

  • Advanced degree in:

    • Life sciences
    • Pharmacy (PharmD)
    • Medicine (MD)
    • Related scientific field (PhD preferred)
  • Fluent in English (additional languages a plus but not essential).
