Medical Secretary Role in Paediatric Surgery and Urology Team

Applications are invited for this Medical Secretary role within the Paediatric Surgery and Urology Team, supporting 14 Consultant Surgeons, 15 Tier 2 clinicians, 3 Clinical Nurses Specialist teams, and 3 Physician Associates.

Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of administrative and secretarial duties, which include:

  • Receipt of all correspondence
  • Booking of patient medical appointments
  • Attendance at designated meetings
  • Recording accurate notes
  • Checking clinical letters, reports, and other correspondence as required by the Consultants and their medical team

Key Duties

  • Act as a focal point of contact and be responsible for the dissemination of information, messages, and enquiries for the medical team
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary team members, other health professionals and staff within the Trust, GP’s, Social Workers, Service Users, Carers, and any other appropriate external agencies
  • Help cover when other secretaries within the service are on annual leave
