We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Medical Secretary, within the Division of Surgery. This role is ideal for a candidate who is compassionate and would like to make a positive difference to patient experience. Whilst not a hands-on patient role, this position enables the post holder to speak with patients on a daily basis and improve hospital waiting times, by working effectively and efficiently.
The Medical Secretary role is a highly diverse, demanding, but rewarding role, working as part of a supportive and dynamic team. The role entails supporting clinicians on a day-to-day basis, especially in helping coordinate the cancer service. It is essential that the successful applicants have the ability to type to a high standard and a desire to develop and learn new skills and competencies.

Applicants must be organised, a team player, have the ability to work under their own initiative and be able to prioritise a competing workload. Whilst experience in a medical administration or secretarial role is preferred, it is not essential. Full training and support would be offered to the candidate who has the skills and qualities required for the role. This role requires on-site working, Monday to Friday.
