The Opportunity
Join Tradebe, a leading provider of sustainable healthcare waste and environmental compliance services to the NHS and private sector. We are looking for a detail-driven, environmentally focused Medical Waste Auditor to help healthcare organisations improve:
- Waste segregation
- Compliance
- Sustainability performance
What you’ll do:
- Conduct waste segregation and compliance audits across NHS hospitals, clinics, and community sites
- Assist in carrying out and reviewing NHS Pre-Acceptance Audits
- Support NHS trusts in meeting HTM 07-01, UK waste legislation, and NHS sustainability goals
- Travel to NHS sites and Tradebe facilities (Swindon, Wrexham, Glasgow) with flexibility to manage your own diary
- Identify risks, non-conformances, and improvement opportunities
- Produce clear audit reports with actionable recommendations
- Deliver training to** clinical and non-clinical staff on correct waste segregation and environmental compliance**
- Work closely with NHS Estates, IPC, and Sustainability teams
- Support clients with KPI tracking, data reporting, and carbon reduction initiatives
- Ensure all work meets standards: ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001

Do You Have What It Takes?
Essential Requirements
- Experience in healthcare waste management, environmental auditing, or compliance (ideally with the NHS)
- Knowledge of HTM 07-01 and UK waste/environmental legislation
- Strong auditing, analytical, and reporting skills
- Excellent communicator, confident in engaging staff at all levels
- UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable
- Environmental or waste management qualifications (e.g., CIWM, IEMA)
- ISO 14001 auditing experience
- Experience delivering training
