Medication Coordinator – Residential Care (Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire & East Yorkshire)

As a Medication Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safe, compliant, and ethical medication management across our homes.
Must live in the UK to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Medication Management
- Ordering acute and monthly medications
- Scheduling deliveries and maintaining restock levels
- Stock control, including expiry dates, stock rotation, and secure storage
- Secure handling of medication fridges/cabinet rotation and key custody
- Controlled drug management, adhering to legislative requirements (ordering, security, safe administration)
- Safeguarding over-the-counter medications and homely remedies—providing health education to residents
- Assessing risk and conducting safety audits

Training & Compliance
- Training staff on medication procedures and legal safeguards
- Supporting monthly competency reviews
- Ensuring polices/procedures comply with external legislation and national standards
Crisis & Support Roles
- Leading covert medication documentation within legal frameworks
- Monitoring resident needs and diarising health tasks with cross-habitual collaboration
- Implementing contingency plans for incidents/resident absences or transitions
- Managing medication errors, near misses, and safeguarding concerns
- Buying and replenishing clinical first aid supplies
- Assessing resident risks and health requirements
- Supporting patient transition out-of-home to leave or death scenarios
- Assisting with medication transfer during new resident integration

Requirements
- Reliable and trustworthy personnel (strict handling of controlled treatments)
- Communication skills essential to collaborate with staff, residents, and external providers
- Experience in a team-based care environment—patient-facing roles in mental health or dementia settings (desirable)
