Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and patient-centred Pharmacy Technician, Medicines Management, to join our Clinical Pharmacy team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Working alongside clinical pharmacists and the multidisciplinary team, you will provide a comprehensive medicines management service across inpatient wards and dispensary services, ensuring the safe and timely supply of medicines to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Taking medication histories
  • Assessing patients' own medicines
  • Ordering and supplying medication
  • Undertaking ward-based dispensing
  • Supporting patient discharge
  • Providing medicines counselling
  • Performing accredited final accuracy checking of dispensed prescriptions
  • Contributing to the safe management of controlled drugs
  • Stock control
  • Delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care in line with Trust policies and professional standards

You will work independently within your scope of practice, support the development of junior pharmacy staff, participate in audits and service improvement projects, and contribute to the ongoing development of clinical pharmacy services.
