The Role Outline: Your Shift at a Glance
Your focus is to deliver the highest professional standards of service for our customers across a brilliant variety of events, from corporate conferences to big celebrations. You are a critical part of the Events team, and we quite literally cannot do it without you. You will achieve this by greeting guests with absolute confidence and professionalism, making sure they are safe, looked after, and genuinely loving their visit to Village.
Why Village?
At Village, we do hospitality a little differently. We are all about personality, genuine connections, and creating great experiences for our guests and each other. That is why we back our teams to be themselves, take ownership, learn new skills, and grow their careers.
Previous experience is great, but your attitude and energy matter much more to us. If you are friendly, positive, love working with people, and enjoy being part of a busy team, we will give you all the support, training, and opportunities you need. Because it really does take a Village.
How The Village Thrives
We live our culture through four simple commitments:
- We Can & We Do: We show up to make a genuine difference and do fantastic work every day, with purpose. We welcome change, support the management team, and actively contribute to developing a vibrant shift culture.
- We Will: Treat each other with respect and dignity. No ego, no drama. We try our best, look out for each other, and work together as true team players to maximize our success and profitability.
- We Care: We care about our impact on guests, the community, and each other. We look to WOW our conference and banqueting guests with our enthusiasm and sharp attention to detail from the moment they arrive until we say farewell.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
