MEICA Project Engineer
Area: Project Delivery Location: Benburb, with travel to various sites
The Role
You will work as part of our multi-disciplinary engineering team, bringing water and wastewater projects from initial design through to completion and handover to clients. This role offers collaboration with industry-leading project teams, a supportive "one-team" culture, and opportunities to broaden your skill set.
As the MEICA Project Engineer, you will:
- Support the Project Manager and Contracts Manager in project delivery.
- Develop your career while gaining exposure to Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) installation—alongside civil/building engineering, process design, commissioning, and operations.
- Contribute multi-disciplinary knowledge and demonstrate career progression through training and promotions at Glanua.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Work within a team culture, delivering "one project" at a time.
- Enforce Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability (HSQE) standards on-site.
- Familiarise yourself with HSQE management systems, adhering to statutory requirements.
- Provide project manager coverage when absent, managing day-to-day site operations.
- Understand programmes and budgets, ensuring adherence to timelines and cost targets.
- Prepare, review, and submit detailed Method Statements and Risk Assessments before work begins.
- Ensure projects meet quality standards and complete:
- Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Inspection and Test Records (ITRs)
- Pipe pressure and hydrostatic tank testing
- Project commissioning according to quality plans and employer requirements.
- Compile project handover files, including:
- Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals
- Safety Files
- As-Constructed Drawings
- Verify that design, materials, and workmanship meet specified requirements.
- Engage with suppliers and sub-contractors, recommending equipment for procurement and managing supplier selection.
- Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, site staff, commercial teams, and stakeholders.
- Conduct weekly on-site meetings to plan efficient, safe progress.
- Interact with employers, stakeholders, and the public daily.
- Monitor on-site progress, adjusting workflow to meet or exceed timelines.
- Stay updated through Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
- Mentor junior staff and demonstrate a proactive attitude toward personal growth.
- Fulfil additional duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within water/wastewater engineering.
- Level 7 Bachelor’s Honours Degree in:
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechatronics
- Chemical Engineering
- Environmental Engineering
- Interest in advancing a career with a st punta leading organisation.
- Ability to collaborate in project delivery, contributing to team discussions.
- Experience engaging with suppliers and subcontractors during procurement and delivery.
- Strong problem-solving and adaptability in fast-paced project environments.
- Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience with GPS, Total Station, and CAD.
- Excellent communication skills and high motivation.
- Full driving licence.
