Member of Engineering (Agent Sandboxes)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Member of Engineering (Agent Sandboxes) based in the United Kingdom.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI infrastructure by building secure and scalable execution environments for next-generation intelligent systems. You will work at the intersection of platform engineering, distributed systems, and machine learning infrastructure, enabling large-scale experimentation and model training. The role focuses on designing highly reliable sandbox environments capable of supporting hundreds of thousands to millions of agent sessions. Working within a collaborative and research-driven environment, you will help shape foundational technologies that accelerate innovation in AI-powered software development. This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, balancing speed with quality, and building systems that operate at exceptional scale.

Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for designing, developing, and operating secure execution environments that support advanced AI research and product initiatives.
  • Design and implement scalable sandboxed execution environments for intelligent agents and code execution systems.
  • Own the full development lifecycle of new features and platform capabilities, from architecture and implementation to deployment and maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with research, engineering, and platform teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions that enable experimentation and product development.
  • Continuously improve the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of the sandbox infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and implement different isolation techniques, container technologies, and runtime strategies to enhance execution safety and efficiency.
  • Develop and optimize systems capable of supporting large volumes of concurrent execution environments.
  • Contribute to operational excellence by improving observability, automation, and infrastructure management processes.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and provide technical guidance on platform evolution and infrastructure best practices.

Requirements:

  • Strong systems engineer with expertise in distributed platforms, container technologies, and large-scale infrastructure environments.
  • Strong programming skills, particularly in Go, Python, or other systems programming languages.
  • Solid experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems in production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms.
  • Experience working with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or equivalent infrastructure providers.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization technologies, container runtimes, and sandboxing techniques.
  • Experience building and maintaining large-scale CI/CD systems or developer infrastructure platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a pragmatic approach to balancing technical quality and delivery speed.
  • Self-driven mindset with the ability to adapt priorities in fast-moving and evolving environments.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, particularly within cross-functional and distributed teams.
  • Experience supporting large-scale machine learning workloads or AI infrastructure is considered a strong advantage.
