I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You Will Do
- Own the product lifecycle end-to-end, from defining features and talking to users to shipping production code across the frontend, backend, and AI layers.
- Develop and iterate on complex AI systems that automate legal case preparation, document generation, and evidence analysis using a stack including OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini.
- Architect and maintain a robust TypeScript monorepo using React, Drizzle ORM, and oRPC, ensuring high-quality software design while leveraging AI code-generation tools effectively.
The ideal candidate
- Proven experience shipping production-grade TypeScript across the full stack, specifically with React and Node.js (Drizzle or similar ORM experience preferred).
- Hands-on expertise building with LLM providers (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) or agent frameworks, with the ability to direct AI coding tools rather than just accepting suggestions.
- Early-stage DNA characterized by high autonomy, a desire to own product outcomes, and the software design instincts needed to build scalable systems from scratch.
