Member of Technical Staff - Mobile Engineer, Health AI
Overview Microsoft AI is looking for a talented Mobile Engineer (iOS or Android) to help build the next generation of health capabilities for Copilot — our personalized AI companion. Within the Health AI team, our mission is to help millions of people better understand and proactively manage their health and wellbeing. We are responsible for ensuring that Microsoft AI’s models and services are useful, trusted, and safe across diverse customer health journeys, translating cutting‑edge research into real‑world products used by millions across Copilot and Microsoft’s consumer ecosystem. As part of the Product Engineering team, you will build and evolve the core Copilot experience across iOS or Android — collaborating closely with Product Management, Design, AI Research, and clinical teams. Our goal is to translate cutting-edge research—like MAI-DxO (microsoft.ai/new/the-path-to-medical-superintelligence)—into transformative products for millions of users across copilot.com and Microsoft’s consumer ecosystem.
You’ll operate in a fast‑paced, iterative environment to bring innovative mobile‑first AI experiences to life — helping bridge advanced research and product delivery to shape the future of personal health computing. Microsoft AI spans Copilot, Bing, Edge, and generative AI research, and is dedicated to advancing consumer AI products that empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Responsibilities Care deeply about building outstanding, consumer‑grade mobile applications Build and ship high‑quality iOS or Android applications for Copilot Write well‑tested, secure, maintainable code with strong engineering fundamentals Partner closely with Designers, Product Managers, and AI Researchers to turn ambiguous ideas into polished user experiences Navigate ambiguity and roadblocks to deliver value to users quickly and iteratively Thrive in a fast‑paced, design‑driven product development cycle Embody Microsoft’s Culture and Values
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or similar experience building mobile applications Strong coding experience in one or more of: iOS: Swift, Objective‑C Android: Kotlin, Java Experience shipping production mobile apps used by customers
Preferred Experience Advanced degree or equivalent senior‑level industry experience Experience building mobile applications from scratch Strong understanding of mobile architecture, design patterns, and UI/UX principles Contributions to open‑source projects Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to work cross‑functionally Passion for learning and staying current with mobile development, AI, and emerging technologies Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive, inclusive engineering culture
