Membership Manager

Membership Manager – Modern Luxury Wellness Brand

A modern luxury wellness brand—recognised by leading lifestyle and business publications—is seeking an exceptional Membership Manager to lead member experience and represent the brand to both existing and prospective members.

Combining world-class fitness, recovery, nutrition, and community within beautifully designed spaces, the business is expanding rapidly with further international growth underway. This is a highly visible, senior role responsible for delivering best-in-class hospitality, driving membership growth, and cultivating a thriving member community.


The Basics

  • Salary: £50,000–£60,000
  • Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Location: West London (5 days on-site)
  • Reports to: Senior Leadership Team

The Role

The Membership Manager will oversee the complete member journey, from initial enquiry to long-term retention, blending exceptional hospitality with commercial acumen to ensure every interaction reflects the brand’s luxury positioning.

Responsibilities

Membership Sales & Business Development

  • Own the end-to-end member journey, including enquiries, tours, conversions, onboarding, and long-term engagement.
  • Deliver personalised membership consultations that highlight the brand’s unique premium offerings.
  • Proactively manage sales pipelines by converting trials, referrals, and guest memberships into long-term retention.
  • Adapt sales strategies through local partnerships, networking, and community outreach.
  • Meet and exceed monthly membership sales, retention, and revenue targets.
  • Identify upsell opportunities for treatments, additional services, and premium packages.
  • Track sales performance, conversion rates, and member trends, providing actionable insights to drive growth.

Membership Experience & Retention

  • Build genuine, long-lasting relationships with members, ensuring every interaction feels personalised and luxurious.
  • Develop bespoke onboarding journeys that foster immediate engagement.
  • Monitor member engagement and proactively improve retention via targeted initiatives.
  • Design personalised retention campaigns and member outreach to boost loyalty and lifetime value.
  • Gather and implement member feedback to enhance the experience continually.
  • Expand referral and ambassador programs to encourage sustainable growth through advocates.

Community & Partnerships

  • Collaborate with Marketing to create an annual calendar of authentic, on-brand community events (e.g., member socials, wellness workshops, exclusive experiences).
  • Organise engaging events that deepen the sense of belonging and membership benefits.
  • Build strategic partnerships with luxury brands, local businesses, and influencers to drive member acquisition.

Marketing & Member Communication

  • Support acquisition, retention, and community campaigns alongside the Marketing team.
  • Maintain an up-to-date member brochure that accurately reflects the evolving offerings.
  • Share member insights, feedback, and trends with Marketing for campaign strategy.
  • Ensure all member communications align with the brand’s premium tone of voice and exceptional customer experience standards.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in premium fitness, wellness, luxury hospitality, or lifestyle brands.
  • A track record of achieving sales, acquisition, or membership targets.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
  • A warm, confident, and professional presence—the face of the brand.
  • Commercial awareness with a customer-first mindset.
  • Attention to detail and strong adaptability under pressure.
  • Ability to anticipate needs before members ask (proactive service mentality).
  • Experience with CRM and booking systems.
  • Flexibility to accommodate occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Measuring Success

  • Membership growth (conversions, retention, upsells).
  • Member satisfaction, engagement, and loyalty (feedback, events attendance).
  • Advocacy through referrals and ambassador programs.
  • Fostering a welcoming, premium environment where every member feels valued and recognised.
