Role Description
The Mental Health Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based in the United Kingdom, supporting learners’ mental health and wellbeing across the College. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Conducting wellbeing assessments
- Providing one-to-one guidance and short-term support
- Developing tailored support plans in collaboration with academic and support staff
- Delivering workshops and group sessions on mental health awareness and resilience
- Promoting health and wellness initiatives
- Signposting learners to internal and external support services
- Maintaining accurate records
- Contributing to safeguarding processes
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure an integrated approach to learner support
- Contributing to staff training on mental health topics
- Supporting the continuous improvement of wellbeing services

- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to build trust, listen effectively, and provide supportive, learner-centered guidance.
- Experience in Training and Health Promotion to design and deliver workshops, awareness campaigns, and staff development on mental health and wellbeing.
- Knowledge and practical skills in Wellness, including strategies for promoting resilience, stress management, and overall wellbeing in an educational setting.
- Relevant professional background in mental health, counseling, psychology, social work, or a closely related field, with experience supporting young people or adult learners.
- Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and ethical practice in learner support, including familiarity with UK regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and to manage a caseload in a busy, diverse educational environment.
- Formal qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., mental health, counseling, psychology, social care) and registration with a professional body is highly beneficial.
