Mental Health Clinical Lead

Mental Health Clinical Lead – HMP New Hall, Flockton

About the Role

We’re seeking a Mental Health Clinical Lead to join our dynamic Mental Health team at HMP New Hall, a female prison and young offender’s institution (YOI) in Flockton, West Yorkshire. Part of a supportive team of 8, this role includes bespoke PPG pathway development and training opportunities, plus site parking.

Hours & Salary

  • 37.5-hour contract (Monday to Friday, either 8:00 AM–4:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM)
  • Full-time annual salary up to £58,012 FTE, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

As the Mental Health Clinical Lead, your work will span clinical leadership and operational care with added responsibility:

  • Leadership & Team Management

    • Manage and support Registered nurses and allied health professionals.
    • Foster inter-agency collaboration for seamless communication and improved patient care.
  • Clinical Practice

    • Maintain autonomous autonomous practice alignment with role standards.
    • Conduct nursing triage, screening, and assessments.
  • Process Development

    • Work with teams to develop local operating procedures, ensuring smooth clinician pathways.
    • Administrate mental health treatment/care as a nurse leader.
  • Patient Care Coordination

    • Oversee management of mental health inpatient care and waiting lists.
    • Monitor medicines management/administration.
  • Compliance & Communication

    • Ensure timely resolution of complaints/concerns related to mental health.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, plans, and treatments.

Requirements

(Registered Practitioner mandatory) ✔️ Registered Practitioner qualification (mental health-related preferred) ✔️ BSc/equivalent qualification
