About the Role
Elevate your leadership skills while supporting clinicians to deliver outstanding service to children and young people! With a sharp focus on improving mental health services for youth, Oxford Health CAMHS is seeking an experienced professional to join their team in Swindon on a 12-month contract.
Join as a Mental Health Liaison Lead Practitioner within Swindon Community CAMHS, where you’ll lead the Mental Health Liaison Service at the district general hospital. This role blends clinical support, leadership and quality service delivery to ensure children and young people receive personalised, time-sensitive care in safe environments.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Mental Health Liaison Service at Great Western Hospital, Swindon, ensuring a responsive, high-quality, user-friendly approach for young people with mental health needs.
- Provide extensive assessments for children and young people presenting with mental health concerns.
- Support patients with:
- Deliberate self-harm
- Eating disorders
- Psychosocial needs for other admitted patients
- Offer day support and consultation to hospital staff when mental health needs emerge.
- Contribute to training delivery (e.g., CAMHS awareness for colleagues).
- Establish a blazing clinical leadership/specialism within Swindon Community CAMHS.
- Lead risk assessment and positive risk-taking initiatives.
- Supervise team members, fostering their professional development.
