An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mental Health Liaison Nurse within NHS Fife Health and Social Care Partnership.
Based in Central Fife the Mental Health Liaison Nurse provides support to patients within the Adult Acute Service and works closely with the Liaison Psychiatrist attached to the service. Referrals are predominantly from the inpatient areas at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. The role will require you to respond to an ever-changing and demanding working environment. You will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, patient-focused care to individuals experiencing mental health and/or related physical health difficulties across a wide spectrum of mental health diagnosis and complexity. This will require you to exercise initiative and autonomy to anticipate and respond to the unpredictability of referrals and the complex demands they present. You will also have the opportunity to provide learning for Peers, Student Nurses and Medical Students, in both General and Mental Health placements and other Health Care Professionals.

Applications for this post are invited from experienced RMN’s, able to demonstrate enhanced skills, knowledge and experience of working with adults across the age span presenting with a range of mental health problems. The successful applicant will have experience of team working, problem solving, flexibility, high-level communication skills, continuing personal development, and change management. The post holder will have day-to-day responsibility for managing their workload and the assessment, care planning, evaluation of patients presenting with a variety of mental health problems in an acute setting. A commitment to partnership working with a range of stakeholders is also essential.
