Specialist Neurodevelopmental Practitioner – Evolve Psychology
About Evolve Psychology
At Evolve Psychology, we do things differently. Founded in 2014 by Dr Laura Powling, a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience, Evolve Psychology began with a bold vision: to redefine clinical and neurodevelopmental psychology by combining care, connection, empathy, and clinical excellence without compromise.
What started as a small practice specialising in expert witness opinions and neurodevelopmental assessments has grown into an international, independent psychology and neurodevelopmental service, delivering high-quality care across the UK, Ireland, and beyond.
Our Services
We provide expert assessments through both NHS and private pathways, including:
✔ NHS-funded neurodevelopmental assessments (in-person and online when clinically appropriate) ✔ Private neurodevelopmental assessments (in-person and online where suitable) ✔ SpLD assessments (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia) ✔ Intellectual disability assessments (including cognitive assessments)
We are a clinician-founded and clinician-led organisation, with a multidisciplinary team of over 100 experts—all registered with HCPC, NMC, GMC, or Social Work England, and affiliated with the British Psychological Society. We pride ourselves on award-winning excellence in neurodevelopmental assessments and support.
Why Evolve Stands Out
✔ Expert leadership: Founded and led by Dr Laura Powling, with 20+ years’ experience across mental health, neurodevelopmental, psychological, and forensic services. ✔ NHS-accredited provider: Delivering high-quality services nationally and regionally. ✔ Dedicated clinical leadership: Across all pathways, ensuring the highest standards. ✔ Gold-standard assessments: Compliant with NICE, BPS, and international best practices. ✔ Access to digital tools: Including electronic health record systems and assessment platforms. ✔ Ongoing training & supervision: Supportive CPD and clinical supervision tailored to your needs. ✔ Person-centred approach: Assessments are evidence-based, multidisciplinary, and holistic—focusing on whole-person support, not just diagnosis. ✔ Research & training opportunities: Contribute to the Evolve Inter Skills & Research Academy, shaping **"neuroinclusive" content, developing training, or collaborating on neurodivergent support initiatives. ✔ Values-led culture: Driven by compassion, clarity, and integrity in every interaction—whether team-based or family-centred. ✔ Sustainable growth: Expanding with clinic bases across the UK, digital reach, and a 100+ expert team—always quality-first.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
