Role Overview

This full-time (37.5 hours/week) Recovery Coordinator (Support Worker) role focuses on empowering vulnerable adults with enduring mental health challenges and chaotic behaviours, working within a high/medium support service. Your mission:

  • Adopt a person-centred approach to support residents
  • Assist in their journey toward independent living
  • Cultivate fulfilling, meaningful daily experiences for those served

The role demands shift-based coverage, including evenings, weekends, and occasional sleep-in shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties Include:

  • Provide therapeutic support to residents with enduring mental health challenges
  • Develop and implement personalised recovery plans, focusing on independence and autonomy
  • Build trusting relationships with residents and collaborate globally with care teams
  • Work proactively with CRM and database systems to track progress and records
  • Implement ** values-driven care**, ensuring dignity, respect, and preferences are upheld
  • Perform shift routine duties, including medicines administration and 1:1 support
  • Safeguard residents, ensuring staff wear proper PPEs and follow hygiene protocols

Requirements

Minimum Criteria:

  • Undergraduate degree or vocational qualification in health/social care
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Support Worker in mental health services
  • Strong understanding of mental health illnesses (e.g., psychosis, BPD, PTSD)
  • Ability to c Amerikaans challenging behaviours (e.g., aggression, risk-taking)
  • Proven experience engaging with caseloads of vulnerable clients
  • Advanced computer skills and digital proficiency:
    • Regulatory CRM/database platforms
    • Microsoft Office / Safe Haven Adobe Certified Reporting
  • Outstanding communication skills for adversarial and diverse audiences
  • Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and resilient to adversity
  • Attention to detail with administrative tasks (e.g., care planning, incidents)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams
