Recovery Support Worker – Horticulture & Arts-Based Mental Health Support
About the Role
Deliver recovery activities and facilitate mental health support in indoor and outdoor spaces, for individuals and groups.
- An interest in horticulture, arts, and crafts is preferred
- Support people in setting and achieving personal goals, promoting independence and social inclusion
- Co-facilitate group sessions and goal-based interventions, adapting approaches to meet diverse needs
- Maintain compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and information governance requirements
- Monitor outcomes, evaluate progress, and implement improvements as needed
- Plan and deliver structured recovery activities
- Encourage participation and engagement, fostering a positive and inclusive environment
- Use strengths-based approaches to support mental health recovery and personal development

What You’ll Bring
Experience in delivering group and individual support within:
- Health
- Social care
- Related sectors
Core requirements:
- Positive attitude, resilience, and enthusiasm for Restore’s mission
- Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills
- Proficiency in using IT systems (e.g., Word, email, data input)
- Willingness to travel across Restore’s service area
Ideal (but not mandatory):
- Experience supporting people to improve their mental health
Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Behaviours
Essential Criteria:
- Positive attitude, resilience, enthusiasm for mental health recovery work
- Experience in delivering group and individual support (health/social care/related sectors)
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, motivational)
- Enthusiasm for allotment/horticulture management, arts & crafts
- Ability to plan, prioritise, and organise work
- IT literacy (Microsoft Word, email, data input)
- Willingness to travel within Restore’s service area

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams
- Experience overseeing recovery plans and outcomes in health/social care
- Motivational interview, coaching qualification or skills
- Experience with people having complex/diverse needs
