Location: Hybrid – Finchley (2 half days per week) / Remote Region Covered: South & South East Salary: Circa £40K, with opportunity to negotiate depending on experience Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Mental Health Solicitor with Law Society Mental Health Accreditation to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a solicitor looking for career progression into a supervisory role, supporting a well-established Mental Health Department.

About the Role

You will take responsibility for a team of two paralegals within our Finchley office, and you will provide guidance, supervision, and support to ensure excellent client service and compliance with professional standards. You will be supported and supervised by the Head of Mental Health.

The role is hybrid, with flexibility to work remotely. Attendance at the Finchley office twice a week (half days) will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the mental health team, including training and supporting paralegals
  • Handle a caseload of mental health tribunal and related matters
  • Maintain compliance with Legal Aid Agency (LAA) requirements and firm policies
  • Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the Mental Health Department
  • Liaise effectively with clients, hospitals, and other stakeholders across the South & South East region.

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor with current Law Society Mental Health Accreditation
  • 2+ years PQE (preferred) with experience handling mental health tribunal work
  • Strong supervisory or mentoring skills, with an interest in developing others
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and case management skills
  • A driving licence and car would be desirable but not essential
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team.
