Mental Health Support Coordinator – Lewes, East Sussex

About the Role
Southdown is one of the leading providers of mental health services in Sussex, delivering accessible and transformative support to people across East Sussex.
As a Mental Health Support Coordinator, you will work in partnership and across communities to provide targeted, recovery-focused mental health and holistic support.
Your role will involve:
- Partnering with clients to complete initial assessments
- Facilitating access to broader mental health services
- Delivering short-term, recovery-focused support sessions
- Co-creating support plans and goals with clients using coaching and motivational interviewing
- Addressing barriers to support via a dynamic approach to risk assessment
- Operating across Southdown buildings and community locations, with travel required for accessibility
You must:
- Be passionate about recovery-focused support for clients to achieve their goals
- Hold a valid full UK driving licence
- Have access to your own car (or a car insured for you)
- Be able to obtain an Enhanced DBS check (provided by Southdown)

While previous experience (such as as a Support Worker, Social Prescriber, Case Manager, Social Worker, Care Coordinator, Mental Health Specialist, or Service Coordinator) is not mandatory, it is highly valued.

Key Requirements
What You’ll Need
✔ Good understanding of working in mental health (or equivalent transferable skills) ✔ Genuine passion for supporting people in exploring their needs and circumstances ✔ Valid full UK driving licence + access to/drive your own vehicle ✔ Commitment to undertaking an Enhanced DBS check (provided by Southdown)
Ideal (but not essential)
✔ Experience supporting clients with mental health challenges, including those in crisis or facing complex needs
Training & Development
- Comprehensive induction followed by regular training from Southdown’s award-winning in-house team
- Career progression with one of the largest providers of housing, care, and support in Sussex
