Mental Health Support Worker (Bank)
Bank Support Worker
Location: Leeds
Salary: £15.07 per hour (inclusive of holiday entitlement uplift)
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of adults with complex mental health needs? Active Pathways is recruiting compassionate Bank Support Workers who can join flexibly to work across Leeds, supporting individuals at Seacroft and Armley in our residential and supported living mental health services.
About Our Leeds Services
As a Bank Support Worker, you’ll gain experience across three specialist Active Pathways services in Leeds, assisting adults with complex mental health needs at different stages of their recovery. Together, these services provide safe, therapeutic environments that promote recovery, independence, and community integration.
Millcroft
A purpose-built residential rehabilitation service for men with complex and enduring mental health needs. The service supports individuals transitioning from hospital-based care, focusing on:
- Recovery and risk management
- Life skills development
- Progressing towards greater independence in a structured yet supportive environment.
Park Place
An enhanced supported living service for adults with mental health needs, offering:
- Fully furnished apartments
- 24-hour support
- Opportunities to build confidence and develop independent living skills
- Community reintegration and progression towards independent living.

Fernside House
A residential care home for men requiring ongoing support in managing complex mental health needs. The service combines:
- Structured support and therapeutic activities
- Vocational opportunities
- Skills development to maintain wellbeing while promoting independence and social inclusion.
By working across all three services, you’ll be part of dedicated multidisciplinary teams that deliver compassionate, person-centred support, making a meaningful impact on residents’ recovery journeys.
Key Responsibilities
As a Support Worker, you will:
- Support individuals on their recovery journey through person-centred care in a rehabilitation setting.
- Help residents develop independent living skills and achieve personal goals.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to build positive relationships with residents.
- Provide emotional and practical support to residents.
- Promote engagement in meaningful activities and encourage social inclusion.
- Assist with daily living tasks, including support for accessing education, employment, and community participation.
- Foster independence and self-confidence, empowering residents to regain control of their lives.
Experience Required
Applicants should have:
- Experience within a Mental Health or Rehabilitation setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to build rapport easily with both residents and colleagues.
- A clear understanding of the importance of person-centred, high-quality care.
