The Role
We are actively recruiting a Support Worker (38.5–44 hours) to provide expert care within our well-established Mental Health Unit, the Galway Suite. The successful candidate will use their clinical experience, compassion, and professionalism to deliver exceptional levels of care to individuals with diverse mental health conditions.

About This Role
Professional Responsibilities:
- Experience working within a mental health environment.
- Good working knowledge of The Mental Health Order (1986).
- Understanding of current approaches to mental health practice.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and positively with challenging resident groups.
- Ensuring care plans are comprehensive, clear, and resident-understood.
- Supporting, encouraging, and assisting residents with medication adherence.
- Accurately maintaining documentation in both manual and electronic formats.
- Ensuring house rules are adhered to for a safe, secure environment.
- Promoting regular, clear communication with colleagues, residents, and visitors.
- Assisting residents with booking and attending appointments.
- Supporting daily tasks such as self-care, shopping, and household responsibilities.
- Encouraging residents to develop skills and increase independence.

Key Requirements
Essential Criteria:
- Understanding of current mental health practices.
- Awareness of local mental health resources and services.
- Knowledge of types of mental health illnesses and care requirements.
- Strong compassionate, empathetic, and caring nature.
Desired Criteria:
- Hold a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Experience working in a care home or related environment.
