About the Role

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you'll support adults living with mental health needs to develop independence, achieve their personal goals, and live fulfilling lives.

  • No two days are the same—you'll work alongside residents to provide practical and emotional support.
  • Encourage choice, confidence, and independence from day one.

Your Responsibilities

You may assist with:

  • Preparing meals and developing cooking skills
  • Managing medication and attending appointments
  • Budgeting and maintaining their home
  • Accessing the local community
  • Developing hobbies, interests, and life skills
  • Providing emotional support and encouragement
  • Supporting individuals in achieving their recovery goals

About You

We’re looking for individuals who are:

  • Kind, respectful, and reliable
  • Committed to supporting others

  • Willing to learn and develop

Experience in health and social care is welcome but not essential. An advantage to applicants who have:

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care
  • Experience supporting a family member, friend, or loved one
  • Experience working with people who have mental health needs or complex needs

Requirements

  • Two satisfactory references covering the past three years, including any roles supporting vulnerable adults, plus a character reference
  • Enhanced DBS check (funded by Northern Healthcare)
