Salary
NJC 12-15 £26,375 – £27,690 (actual) £28,598 – £30,024 (FTE) Plus:

Hours & Contract
- 37 hours per week, 42 weeks per year
- One week available either side of summer holidays (essential)
- Permanent role

You’ll join a dedicated Mentor Coordinator role in partnership with MCR Pathways – an award-winning charterity committed to changing the lives of young care-experienced and disadvantaged students. Our mission is to replace life-limiting stereotypes with potential, ensuring every young person is defined by their talent and capabilities.
This role is your chance to: ✔ Empower disadvantaged young people through mentoring ✔ Embed mentoring programmes within a dynamic school community ✔ Partner with volunteers to drive lasting impact
Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Build meaningful relationships with young people across Years 7–11
- Deliver inspirational group sessions to younger year groups (7–8) as part of the curriculum
- Recruit, support and motivate volunteer mentors to make a tangible difference
- Champion each young person’s confidence, talent and potential
- Work closely with school staff and external partners to integrate mentoring into the school ecosystem
- Report safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
- Track progress of the mentoring programme and capture measurable outcomes

Essential Qualities
You’ll need: ✔ Pastoral experience (youth work, social care, education or criminal justice) ✔ Authenticity, empathy and a commitment to changing lives ✔ Strong engagement skills—warm, professional with a proactive approach ✔ A driven mindset to help every young person realise their full potential ✔ Excellent organisational and data capture abilities ✔ Impactful planning and time management skills
