Note: Sapiente Education is headquartered in the UAE. This is a fully remote role, and applicants may be based outside our primary location, provided they can maintain partial overlap with Dubai (UAE) working hours.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced mentors in Economics and Finance to deliver advanced one-to-one mentorship to highly motivated students. This role is designed for researchers, postdoctoral researchers, professors, university lecturers, and experienced academics with strong research backgrounds in Economics, Finance, Banking, or related disciplines.

Mentors are expected to guide intellectually ambitious students through university-level economic and financial concepts, advanced discussion, and research-focused learning within a highly personalised mentorship setting.

Students may explore topics across economics, finance, banking, financial markets, macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, behavioural economics, public policy, international economics, development economics, corporate finance, investment, sustainability and ESG, financial technology (FinTech), and related fields.

Our flagship programmes support students in developing research projects intended for submission to entry-level academic journals. Where appropriate and mutually agreed, mentors may also be credited on resulting research papers or publications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-level one-to-one mentorship sessions remotely
  • Guide students through advanced academic exploration and discussion in Economics and Finance
  • Support students in refining research interests and developing intellectually ambitious project ideas
  • Provide strategic guidance on economic reasoning, financial analysis, conceptual depth, and academic direction
  • Share academic and research insight where relevant
  • Support students in strengthening academic writing, quantitative analysis, and critical thinking
  • Encourage intellectual independence, curiosity, and rigorous academic standards
  • Collaborate with Research Assistants and Sapiente's programme team where required
  • Record sessions where necessary so students may review missed sessions and for internal quality assurance purposes
  • Maintain professionalism and high mentorship standards throughout the programme

Required

  • Currently affiliated or previously affiliated with a top-10 institution such as Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, MIT, or more broadly with Red Bricks and Ivy Leagues.
  • Researchers, Postdoctoral Researchers, Professors, University Lecturers, and published academics within Economics, Finance, Banking, or related disciplines are particularly encouraged to apply.
  • Strong publication, research, or academic background within Economics, Finance, or closely related fields.
  • Experience within university research, academic teaching, laboratory research, or scientific publication settings
  • Ability to lead intellectually engaging discussions with highly motivated students aged 13–23
  • Excellent communication and mentorship skills
  • Ability to explain complex economic and financial concepts clearly while maintaining academic depth.
  • Strong professionalism, organisation, and attention to detail
  • Passion for mentorship, education, and developing future researchers and academics
