Our Mission

The UCSB Comm Alumni Council aims to support the professional development and lifelong engagement of students and alumni. One important component is our Mentorship Program, which matched current students with alumni to build communities that support social and professional networking as students enter the next phase of their lives. This will be our 4th edition of the program, and each year the program has been growing massively. Last year, we had over 430 total participants and with the momentum we have had in recent years, we expect this number to continue growing. We have received some incredible testimonies and feedback, and even a few examples of students getting job opportunities directly through their mentor’s network of professionals.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Student Testimonial

“The UCSB Comm Department’s Mentorship Program has had a profoundly positive impact on both my personal and professional growth. It provided me with invaluable guidance and support that I wouldn’t have had otherwise. I gained access to a wealth of knowledge and experiences that helped me navigate my academic and career journey more effectively. Learning about the projects they do and the strategies they employ allowed me to see real-world applications of the concepts I had learned in the classroom and understand how they translate into successful communication strategies in practice. It’s an incredible opportunity to gain insights and guidance from experienced professionals in the field who are genuinely invested in your success. The insights, advice, and networking opportunities are invaluable.”
