Company Description
BJF Group is a leading multi-discipline Main Contractor based across the UK, specialising in delivering high-quality construction projects across various sectors - priding ourselves of our reputation for excellence and attention to detail.
Within our MEP division, the engineering team plays a crucial role in the day-to-day delivery of planned works across a diverse range of properties and systems within large Mechanical, Plumbing & Electrical contracts.
Position:
We're looking for an experienced MEP PreConstruction Manager to lead our preconstruction strategy and drive Gateway 2 and 3 submissions under the Building Safety Act. You'll guide design consultants, shape compliant and buildable MEP solutions, and ensure designs align seamlessly with procurement for a smooth project start.
In this role, you'll:
Manage Gateway 2 and 3 technical submissions and maintain the "Golden Thread." Challenge and review MEP designs for compliance, buildability, and realistic operational assumptions. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
