Criterion Capital - MEP Project Manager
Criterion Capital is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to lead and manage the delivery of MEP services across multiple office-to-hotel conversion projects. This role requires a strong background in building services engineering combined with proven project management capabilities to ensure successful planning, coordination, and execution of MEP works. The ideal candidate will oversee the full lifecycle of MEP delivery, ensuring systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in line with programme, budget, and quality expectations.
Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the delivery of MEP packages across multiple office-to-hotel conversion projects, ensuring systems (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) are installed in line with design, programme, and budget requirements.
- Lead coordination between design teams, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems within the overall project.
- Oversee MEP contractors and supply chain partners, ensuring performance, quality, and compliance with project objectives.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all MEP-related site activities, providing regular updates to senior project stakeholders and clients.
- Work closely with the Design Manager to ensure design intent is maintained throughout delivery and any site issues are resolved efficiently.
- Manage MEP construction programmes, monitoring progress and proactively mitigating risks to ensure timely project completion.
- Oversee installation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards, and regulations.
- Review and manage MEP-related RFIs, technical submissions, and shop drawings, ensuring timely approvals and alignment with project requirements.
- Ensure all MEP works comply with local building regulations, health and safety standards, and hospitality-specific operational requirements.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring systems are fully operational and handed over to required standards.
- Manage the procurement process for MEP packages, including reviewing tenders and supporting contractor and supplier selection.
- Monitor and control MEP budgets, identifying risks and opportunities for cost savings while maintaining quality and performance.
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control processes are implemented throughout installation and commissioning phases.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change management records, and as-built information.
- Drive continuous improvement across MEP delivery processes within the business.

About You
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in MEP project management, site management, or building services delivery roles within main contractors or developers
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or building services engineering (or related field)
- Proven experience delivering MEP packages, ideally within hospitality, commercial conversions, or residential projects
- Strong understanding of MEP installation, commissioning, and handover processes
- Knowledge of UK building regulations, health & safety standards, and industry best practices
- Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multidisciplinary teams on-site
- Ability to manage multiple projects or phases simultaneously while maintaining quality and programme targets
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
