MEP Quantity Surveyor

Quantity Surveyor – M&E / Building Services

My client is an established building services contractor with over 45 years’ experience delivering mechanical and electrical services across the UK, Ireland and Europe. They operate across a wide range of sectors including commercial, healthcare, data centres, industrial, logistics, pharmaceutical, leisure, residential and energy.

The Role

They are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, managing project costs from handover through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project costs, valuations and applications for payment
  • Lead monthly CVRs, reviewing actual spend against forecast
  • Procure specialist M&E subcontractors and manage commercial terms
  • Identify, cost and agree variations with the main contractor
  • Review pay less notices, payment certificates and contract documents
  • Maintain risk and opportunity registers to protect project margin
  • Provide regular commercial updates on cash flow, liabilities and disputed variations
  • Attend and chair commercial progress meetings where required
  • Support post-project reviews to improve future estimating and delivery

  • Experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong M&E or building services background
  • Confident managing subcontractor procurement, valuations and variations
  • Strong understanding of tendering, contracts and the construction process
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a similar discipline
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
