Position Summary

The MEP Superintendent is responsible for providing direct in-field supervision to the crews working on all phases of the MEP construction. This position is based in St. Thomas, USVI.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Monitor the installation and the startup of MEP systems
  • Assist with developing detailed schedules for all MEP installation activities, including cost and resource loading
  • Review and approve material and equipment for MEP systems prior to installation
  • Direct responsibility to coordinate all MEP construction activities
  • Interact with Project Managers and other Engineers to complete various items of self-performed work as well as any subcontractor
  • Oversee field personnel, daily/weekly/monthly schedules, and overall operations
  • Coordinate crews and equipment to maximize production and efficiency
  • Select, train, motivate, and evaluate assigned personnel; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies
  • Comply with and effectively implement the company’s Safety Program to ensure safety and environmental standards are met or exceeded
  • Assist in ensuring project construction is completed in compliance with the construction schedule, control budget, and contract documents
  • Ensure execution of the work in accordance with contract documents, subcontracts/agreement, plans, specifications and shop drawings including management and execution of changes to work

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have at least 10 years of experience performing the duties described above
  • Thorough knowledge of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems
  • General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes, and Plumbing Codes related to the construction of a project
  • Has a proven track record as a MEP Superintendent on large commercial projects
  • Able to read and understand design drawings and schematics
  • Experience working on large projects where no MEP structure existed prior
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is a must
