Boots Opticians are looking for a full-time Merchandising Lead - Optimisation, based at our Nottingham Support Office. As part of the Buying & Merchandising team, this role is all about optimising our range and in-store merchandising at a local level to drive performance, whilst developing our ranging approach at a national chain level too.
About The Role
In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with our Retail team and Franchise partners to ensure we meet the ever-evolving needs of our customers. Reporting to Trading Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead initiatives that directly impact our in-store experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Combining data with insights from our Retail teams and Franchise partners to identify stores with performance opportunities
- Defining key merchandising actions to capitalise on opportunities to drive performance
- Monitoring and reviewing results following interventions and course correct where required
- Evolving the process and approach to store categorisation, ensuring the correct balance between structure and agility
- Responding to requests from Retail leadership to review store ranges, and working with local teams to drive results

What You’ll Need To Have
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
- Extensive experience with Excel
- A very high level of attention to detail
- A proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical capability – able to turn data into insight, into action
- A methodical/logical approach
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to balance multiple priorities from different parties and drive action/decision making
It Would Be Great If You Also Have
- Experience of using space planning and planogramming systems
