This Merchandise Admin Assistant (MAA) role at JD’s Bury Head Office offers you the chance to excel in our merchandising team while gaining hands-on experience in key areas that’ll shape your professional journey.
The MAA role is responsible/reports to the Senior MAA and provides support across purchase orders, stock allocation, and trade reporting.
Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Order Administration (30%)
- Create and maintain purchase orders on JD’s system within a specified product area.
- Verify receipt of purchase orders from suppliers and maintain proper filing.
- Review costs, selling prices, and VAT in product files before receipt, flagging inconsistencies to Merchandisers/Assistant Merchandisers and follow-up on directed amendments.

Stock Management (40%)
- Schedule quarterly and weekly order schedules for new lines.
- Monitor schedules to ensure correct stock ratios and allocate correctly.
- Adapt schedules based on Merchandiser/Assistant Merchandiser instructions.

Trade Performance (30%)
- Generate and distribute weekly trade reports for Monday briefings.
- Analyse and suggest actions based on top- and new-line performance.
- Collaborate with the Digital team to ensure new lines launch on the JD website.
- Upload weekly price amendments as instructed and communicate them to Retail.

- Build and maintain collaborative relationships within merchandising and across other team functions.

- Excels in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools, using data-driven insights for decision-making.
