The Role

Looking to start or advance your career in Merchandising? Whether you’re drawn to analytical skills, love working with numbers, or want professional growth in a forward-thinking company, this Merchandise Admin Assistant (MAA) role offers real challenge and development.

As an MAA, you’ll work under the Senior MAA, creating and managing purchase orders/contracts to support the Merchandising team. Duties cover:

  • Order management (30%)
  • Stock operations (40%)
  • Trade reporting (30%)

A stepping stone to a long-term career in merchandising.


Responsibilities

Order Administration (30%)

  • Create and maintain purchase orders in the JD system for specific product ranges.
  • Check and verify that orders are received and filed accurately.
  • Review key financial data—costs, selling prices, VAT—before ingestion, flagging issues and updating orders based on guidance from Merchandisers.

Stock Operations (40%)

  • Schedule quarterly stock replenishment and weekly new lines.
  • Audit stock allocation to ensure correct ratios.
  • Adjust schedules in line with direction from Merchandisers.

Trade & Reporting (30%)

  • Generate and distribute key reports for monday trade meetings.
  • Analyse performance of top-tier and new product lines, recommending actions within boundaries.
  • Collaborate with Digital teams to ensure new product lines appear live online.
  • Upload price adjustments as directed by Merchanting roles, then communicate changes to Retail.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Passionate about JD brands and its customers. You’re:

  • Analytical, with a passion for numbers.
  • Systems-driven, proficient in Excel and broader Microsoft Office software.
  • Highly organised and attentive to detail.
  • A clear communicator who can build relationships across teams and functions.
  • Self-motivated, capable of taking ownership while using initiative.
  • Strong teamwork skills—collaborative, sharing insights and supporting colleagues.
  • Flexible and responsive to business needs.
  • Curious about learning, with a growth mindset.
