Merchandiser
Merchandisers (Eastbourne-area Role)
Location: Eastbourne, United Kingdom (BN23) Territory: Eastbourne + within 15 miles of the area Contract: Part-time (approx. 4–6 hrs/week, flexible, hours likely to increase during busy periods) Rate: £15.07 p/h (PAYE including holiday pay) Start: Within 2 weeks after onboarding and training Flexibility: Mon–Sun (with fixed core days: Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays) Transport: Private car is essential (for store visits and transport of promotional materials).
About the Role
We’re seeking Merchandisers in the Eastbourne area to support the placement, auditing, and promotion of beauty and retail products across high-street, grocery, and convenience stores.
Key responsibilities involve:
- Adhering to planograms to optimise product presentation.
- Ensuring high shelf visibility, driving sales through strategic merchandising.
- Engaging with store staff to secure optimal shelf space and displays.
- Record-keeping via our reporting app (photos, feedback, and stock checks).
Essential:
- Independent work ethic and team player
- Reliability and professionalism
- Comfort lifting/moving small stock items
Desirable experience:
- Retail, merchandising, or a background in health & beauty chains (e.g. Boots, premium beauty brands).
No formal qualifications required.
Job Duties
Merchandising & Engagement
- Visit assigned stores (mix of high street, grocery + convenience) to complete:
- Merchandising tasks (assembling displays, restocking).
- Audits and POS (point-of-sale) material distribution.
- Use planograms as a guideline to curate eye-catching, customer-friendly layouts.
- Maximise shelf visibility to improve sales conversion.

Operational Tasks
- Maintain daily stock (top-ups on displays/shelves).
- Negotiate and negotiate additional display space where possible.
- Physically move stock, check and lid dates of perishable items.
- Take clear on/video recordings in-app where helpful.
Requirements
Who Should Apply?
✅ Reliable and self-motivated — can work independently. ✅ Retail experience (shop floor or beside) preferred; sound knowledge of local stockouts/algorithms helpful. ✅ Confident communicator — comfortable building rapport with store teams. ✅ Proactive attitude — eye for presentation and connection between display and sales. ✅ Clean driving licence and access to their own car (all expenses covered save fuel).
Experience Desirable (But Not Required)
🔹 Previous work in Boots, high-street beauty or department stores. 🔹 Understanding of seasonal/spot promotions.
Technical Behaviours
- App access: Comfort with a digital app to log activities, share photos, and track tasks.
