Nova of London, established in 1981, is a leading UK wholesaler of women’s fashion, with a strong presence in East London and Manchester. The business also owns design-led labels such as QED London, Wild Flower, and Misumi, all dedicated to distinctive, wearable fashion.

Role Description

The Merchandiser role is a full-time, on-site position based in Whitechapel. The Merchandiser will manage the range and analyse sales data to optimise ranges across seasons. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Liaising with the design, sales, and buying teams
  • Preparing range plans
  • Tracking product production
  • Ensuring timely delivery of the range
  • Raising the Purchase Orders
  • Approving fabrics, trims, and colours
  • Following the production through to delivery
  • Carrying out full sampling for the range
  • Processing all parcels that come in for Merchandisers

The role involves building excellent relationships with the supply base, using strong negotiation skills, understanding margins and shipping lead times. The role involves supporting customer accounts with accurate product information and coordinating with warehouses for deliveries.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Communication for effective interaction with internal teams and retail partners.
  • Candidates should have solid analytical and numerical skills for sales reporting and range planning.
  • Candidates should be highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple product lines and deadlines.
  • Experience in fashion wholesale and merchandising is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Excel or similar tools and comfort working with inventory or ERP systems is an advantage.
  • A relevant qualification in Fashion, Business, Merchandising, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A Positive mind-set with hands-on approach and strong team ethos.
  • A desire to see things through and make things happen quickly and effectively.
  • Strong Organisational skills.
  • A positive and proactive approach to building and maintaining strong relationships with management and key stakeholders within the business.
  • An ability and willingness to work cross-functionally across the brand.
  • A willingness for continuous improvement in the role, and a desire to develop yourself.
  • Adaptable attitude with a willingness to assist on ad-hoc company needs.
