# Merchandiser – Ipswich & North Suffolk

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and motivated Merchandiser to join our successful team. In this essential field-based role, you will play a pivotal part in driving retail sales and maximising the visibility of our publications:
- Ipswich Star
- East Anglian Times
- Beccles & Bungay Journal
- Suffolk Magazine
- Norfolk Magazine
Working independently across a defined territory, you will build strong retail partnerships, ensuring our titles are consistently: ✔ Fully stocked ✔ Well-presented ✔ Supported by effective point-of-sale (POS) materials
You’ll also identify opportunities to grow distribution and enhance brand presence within your assigned area.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Engagement & Stock Management
- Conduct regular store visits (newsagents, superstores, retail outlets) within your assigned territory
- Maintain strong working relationships with store staff and managers
- Ensure full stocks of all titles are accurately maintained and updated per agreed plans

Sales & Visibility Enhancement
- Implement and maintain POS materials to maximise product visibility
- Identify and act on opportunities to increase distribution and availability
- Provide daily performance reports and insights from store visits
Competitive & Target-Driven
- Monitor competitor activity and propose strategies for growth
- Work towards sales and distribution targets to drive improvement
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Driven by results – highly motivated, target-focused, with a result-oriented mindset
- Confident communicator – able to engage with staff, managers and customers at all types of outlets
- Professional and reliable; represents our Newsquest brands to a premium standard
- Highly self-driven – can effectively manage territory independently with initiative
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Essential:
- Valid UK driving licence
- Access to (or ability to use) a personal vehicle
- Beneficial (but not mandatory):
- Prior experience in merchandising, retail, or sales
