Role Overview

Kurt Geiger is seeking an organised and commercially-aware Merchandiser (Junior Merchandiser) to join the Children’s Shoes team, delivering successful outcomes in our concession spaces across department store partners. This role offers unparalleled opportunities for career growth in a fast-paced merchandising environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Product Range Management

    • Assist in planning, forecasting, and trading of Luxury & Premium Branded product ranges, aiming to maximise sales and profit.
    • Review weekly sales, stock, and intake performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Forecasting & Stock Optimisation

    • Generate competent forecasts at department, brand, and line levels.
    • Balance stock availability with markdown minimisation to optimise sell-through and turnover.
    • Own critical metrics: sell-through, margin, and stock turnover.
  • Collaboration & Market Insights

    • Work closely with Buying, Planning, Retail, and Supply Chain teams for seamless product flow.
    • Recommend re-buys, cancellations, and RTV adjustments.

    • Propose markdown and promotion strategies to clear stock efficiently.
    • Maintain accurate data and reports within all relevant systems.
    • Support senior stakeholders by preparing trade packs and performance summaries.
  • Presentation & Forward Planning

    • Confidently present mid-season reviews and future-season planning summaries to leadership.

Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Currently an Associate/Assistant Merchandiser, Merchandiser, or Junior Merchandiser.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Business, Fashion, Retail, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).

Key Skills & Experience

  • Numerical acumen and analytical ability.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (FORECASTS! yardstick reporting, pivot tables etc.).
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy under tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time-management discipline.
  • Proven ability to interpret data and provide commercial insights.
  • Exceptional communications—balancing clarity with influence in cross-functional teams.
  • Deep appreciation of Luxury/Branded retail, product trends, and market dynamics.
