Main purpose of the role
We are seeking an organised and analytically driven individual to join our merchandising department. You will be responsible for the financial planning and stock management of AYBL (Women's and Men's activewear) and Because of Alice (BOA).
The merchandiser will be responsible for strategically driving the business through effective planning, range building and trading. You will work collaboratively with a multitude of teams including Buying, Design, E-com and Marketing to achieve commercially successful outcomes for the department and wider business.

You will need to ensure we have the right products at the right time, in the right quantities, as well as the right price whilst applying commercial understanding and fashion sense.
Roles & responsibilities
- Manage smooth day to day running of the merchandising team with help of AM
- Regularly analyse department, using a data approach to identify opportunities and risk based on past/present trade and external factor
- Forecast sales and stock levels to achieve sales plans and margin/profit targets for the department. Ability to manage WSSI effectively
- Seek opportunities to improve ways of working and systems use to trade more effectively globally, sharing knowledge with the team
- Work closely with the Buying/Design teams to successfully range build for the department
- Participate in trade meetings with Heads of and Directors, providing financial presentations to make informative decisions
- Meet with suppliers, distributors and analysts, negotiating quantities and delivery timescales in line with company trade plans
- Plan and set discounts / promotions based on stock performance
- Understand warehouse stock management and the importance of efficiency

Person Specification
- Excellent data management and analytical skills with proven experience in a merchandising role, preferably fashion or fitness clothing
- Demonstrates a commercial and analytical mindset, using data and insights to leverage opportunities that successfully contribute to the department and wider Group strategy
- Confidence to own the role and use initiative to drive department
- Effective management skills. Ability to manage in all directions with excellent communication
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond well to pressurised situations
- Demonstrate a passion and understanding for the fitness and fashion industry

Our home is located in Redditch, South Birmingham, with easy access routes to the M5/M42, a 20-minute walk to the train station, as well as many bus routes. Not forgetting Arrow Valley Lake which is a stone’s throw away and a beautiful spot to get those steps in or enjoy your lunch with a view.
